While running her own companies, she handled the position of Marketing Director and COO of Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention and Marketing Consultant of Lynderm Facial Center and Business Consultant. Currently, she also gives talks about Life Mapping to college students and professionals.

Gem has carved a career in the foodservice industry and has experience in all areas of foodservice management: General Management, Operations, Human Resource Development and Marketing. She has made valuable contributions in strengthening Philippine brands like Jollibee, Racks, L.C. Big Mak, Goto King, Bangus, Gerry’s Grill, the Cravings group, the North Park Group of Restaurants, Red Ribbon Bakeshop and Max’s; and in building start-up chains like Don Henrico’s, Chef d’Angelo, Khaleb Shawarma, Yadllie Philippines and Chicken Shack USA.
With a strong background in marketing and training, she successfully lead the event teams that put together high impact sales conferences and product launches for Jollibee, Greenwich, Pfizer Philippines, Abbott Laboratories, and the Philippine Basketball Association. Developing and implementing training programs for her clients, as well as teaching stints at the University of the Philippines, DLSU-College of St. Benilde and the American Hospitality Academy Philippines has honed her as an effective trainor—management, marketing, sales, event management and customer service being her forte. Her training sessions are events that are not to be missed.
She authored one of the first locally-produced textbooks in Event Management. Her book entitled “Event Management: Envision. Execute. Evaluate,” debuted at the 2009 Manila International Book Fair and its second edition was released in May this year. The textbook is used by HRIM students in various colleges and universities.
